    Top 10 markets for Swiss watches    
    January – June 2008
 		    
    Data collected and released by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry on Swiss watch export numbers was published in the October 2008 issue of WatchTime magazine. The following numbers rank the top 10 export markets for these time pieces, expressed in millions of Swiss francs, for the period covering January through June of this year.

    WatchTime further notes: "Exports of mechanical watches grew 22.6 percent, to SF5.43 billion; those of quartz watches, 2.5 percent, to SF2.27 billion. The former had an export price of SF2,537; the later, SF216. Mechanical watches accounted for 70.6 percent of Swiss watch exports in terms of value and 16.9 percent in terms of pieces.

With the exception of the Omega 2541.80 Seamaster worn by Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye, all other Swiss-made James Bond watches in the movies have been mechanical models.
