    MSRP (price) discount survey on Rolex Submariner purchase (2006 survey)

    Following are results of a Poll I ran in a highly-trafficked watch Forum focused on the modern Rolex wristwatch brand. I Posted this survey on April 13, 2006, and ran it for 7 days. The Thread was viewed over 525 times and garnered 47 Votes as distributed below in response to the following question.

How much of a discount did your Authorized Dealer give on your Rolex Submariner purchase?

    
         
    32%   received no discount at all    
    2%   received 1% to 3% off Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)    
    9%   received 4% to 5% off MSRP    
    4%   received 6% to 8% off MSRP    
    21%   received 9% to 10% off MSRP    
    9%   received 11% to 13% off MSRP    
    9%   received 14% to 15% off MSRP    
    4%   received 16% to 18% off MSRP    
    2%   received 19% to 20% off MSRP    
    4%   received 21% to 23% off MSRP    
    No one   received 24% to 25% off MSRP    
    4%   received 26% or more off MSRP    
             
    Numbers may not add up to 100% due to rounding.    
         
    At the time of this survey, Rolex model 14060M was the current Submariner; this would have made it an "M-4" on my film features scale [link]. Such feedback has become increasingly hard to come by as many horology Forums decline to allow pricing discussions.
