 AboutMy name is Dell Deaton and I created this James Bond watch site. It seems to me that one of the best ways to enjoy wristwatch collecting is to develop that interest around a theme. In my case, "the James Bond watch" beautifully cuts across technology, culture, and mystery. Most brands of wristwatch specified by Ian Fleming and in the Albert R. Broccoli films have survived to this day; among vintage wristwatches, the 007 association has come to command a premium. Unless otherwise indicated here, the James Bond watch images shown are from my own collection (or at least were when I photographed them). All are authentic. I also take a rather broad view of the theme of "collecting" here, and I believe that this can and should include new and unique information, marketing materials and promotions, and even creating a collection of James Bond watch-related quotes. The study of the James Bond watch is a passion and joy for me. The James Bond Watches website is presented to share a bit of that with others who share the same interest. I'm a stickler for "getting it right" and documentation that gets as close to first-hand as possible, always verified. Of less interest to me are debates over "the best" watch, since each can be viewed as a treasure for what it uniquely offers on its own terms: Durability, innovation, accuracy, marketing, support of the 007 franchise — you name it! James Bond Watches continues to be a work-in-progress. It started a great deal more humbly than this some three decades ago, when I was watching James Bond films first-run in the theatre and was hooked by wristwatches that could not only do fascinating things thanks to Q-Branch, but were, in those days, the likes of things no one had ever seen. This is the mindset I strive to maintain when I look today at a wristwatch now classified as "vintage." What must it have been like as a contemporary James Bond watch when Sean Connery was in his thirties or Ian Fleming was typing away at Goldeneye?
